Want to Know a Natural Solution for Feeling Overwhelmed and Over-Stressed

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

As some of you might know, I am kind of a nutritional junky.  I utilize nutrition to enhance my wellbeing and I am always jived to learn new advances that arise.  The marriage of true, verifiable science and great outcome based results…for me it’s a win win.

The last few articles I really did not touch upon nutrition at all.  I have received a few emails based on the fact that people are trying to get more focus, get more done, but are having a bit of a challenge.  Through the emails from the articles, as well as a common occurrence here at the pharmacy, I have been asked for nutritional supplement advice on this matter.

Common issues that people ask me about are problems with focus and concentration, as well as other stress related symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, and depression.  These are issues I want to address with this article, with practically a silver bullet approach.

I have quite a wide arsenal here at the pharmacy and utilize many different nutrients for different issues.  You can imagine my excitement to come across one nutrient that I have been witnessing first hand to address all issues mentioned above.

Now, I am not one who believes too much in coincidences.  I feel there is often a ‘divine timing’ of sorts if we open up our minds and our hearts to it.

Well, one of my favorite nutritional companies, Thorne Research, recently contacted me to keep me up to date with the advances within their research and product line.  The representative mentioned their new product called PharmaGABA-Pro, a source of Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).

Now, I kind of internally sighed.  I have utilized GABA in the past, without the results I would be hoping for.

You see, GABA is a natural neurotransmitter.  Neurotransmitters are chemicals which relay, amplify and modulate signals between neurons and other cells.  Neurotransmitters are either excitatory or inhibitory.  GABA is inhibitory, or calming.

It is well known that low levels of GABA are associated with anxiety, insomnia, and depression.  It has also been proven that increased GABA levels improve mental focus and relaxation, without drowsiness. The problem I have encountered is that most GABA preparations that I have tried have not truly emulated what GABA does in the body…until now.

I am a stickler for quality nutrition, and generally won’t touch about 90% of the stuff that is on the market.  If you have not yet picked one up, stop in and grab our report on “8 Critical Factors To Ensure a Quality Nutrient”, while supplies last.   One of the critical factors is utilizing ‘lives source, whole food’ nutrients.  All the GABA products I have used have been synthetically derived, so when the representative told me that this GABA is manufactured from Lactobacillus hilgardii (the bacteria used to ferment vegetables in the preparation of kimchi) my interest perked up.

Well, the results are in.  This stuff is working great.

People have been noticing an increased calming effect during the day, while increasing focus and concentration at the same time.  Those having trouble getting to sleep or falling back asleep do to the ‘over-active mind’ syndrome are seeing great improvements as well, with no side-effects.

So, I hope this article gave you some valuable information and might provide some assistance to you or someone you may know; and thank you for allowing me to share my ‘new nutrient excitement.’
